Brilliance was defined in a simple one hour and forty-five minutes with James Wan’s highly anticipated horror sequel, Insidious: Chapter 2. This film pretty much gave Leigh Whannel and James Wan a VIP pass into the Masters of Horror lounge.
If you thought The Conjuring was great, oh, how you’ll love this little slice of fright– or should I say, BIG slice of fright! This had each one of my friends jumping and screaming in their seats (maybe a few Icees spilled). There were hardly any jump scares… just the clever brilliance of James Wan.
Insidious: Chapter 2 began right where we left off in Insidious. From there, I can’t say anything else. But, I will say that this film does explain the unexplained. It answers the unanswered. The way Leigh Whannel and James Wan unfolds the story it is just pure genius. The story is amazingly written, the scares are on point, the direction of the film was obviously great as well. Chapter 2 was just overall a fantastic horrifying ride.
…I will say — from what I saw — it looks like there could be an Insidious: Chapter 3… but, that’s just me. You watch it and tell me what you think. #DontGoAlone
Yes, the title is not a trick of the eye. Coming in January of 2014 and directed by David Bruckner, The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes. The release date of this film has been changed. In December, Dimension films announced that they hope to have the film done in time to have a January 3rd release date… But, who knows. This could change.
Taking place in the late 70’s, The Lost Tapes gives you a look of the horrors that occurred after the original book and movie. An ambitious female television news intern, on the verge of breaking the most famous haunted house case in the world, leads a team of journalists, clergymen and paranormal researchers into an investigation of the bizarre events that will come to be known as The Amityville Horror… only to unwittingly open a door to the unreal that she may never be able to close. Since the past 2 years, there have been rumors floating around about a “Child’s Play” remake. So, I did some hardcore research and read that MGM is getting itself back together and there may be a “Child’s Play” remake and sequel in our near or far future with Brad Douriff (voice of Chucky) at it again. Brad Douriff attended the North Carolina’s Mad Monster Party last month ago and thankfully gave us an update saying that there is a remake and a sequel to continue this great horror franchise in development at the same time.
Next year being the 25th Anniversary of “Child’s Play” makes it even better to get these films into production and maybe finished by next year. Many fans of the horrifyingly, frightening Chucky want a remake… But will a remake and a sequel be as good as the originals? That’s what happens with many movies: they make a film, it does great, they make a sequel, it doesn’t do as great, they make a remake… You’re thinking Why’d they ruin such a classic? Sometimes sequels and remakes are great too, but most of the times; not really.
The possibly upcoming sequel’s title as of right now is “Revenge of Chucky”. Douriff is taking part in both the sequel and remake, but he says he hasn’t been sent a script for the remake yet. It is a 50/50 chance we will get either one of these films. For all the hardcore Chucky fans, just keep your fingers crossed.

It has been said that a script for a third installment of the hit franchise “Ghostbusters” has been written and sent to Bill Murray. But it has also been rumored that Bill Murray will not be in the (possible, but not confirmed) film. Yet the script has been written to star the original cast of the 80s.
Although this film may not happen, it is still a possibility. I really hope this film goes into production and into theaters! I would love to see another Ghostbusters film. It makes me wonder, if this film does happen within the next year or so, would do well? What do you think?
It has been rumored for the past couple of years that the famous horror movie franchise “The Ring” could come back with a third film. This (if it happens) film is going to be in 3D. Just like every movie has been for the past year or so.
The franchise first began in 2002 when the first movie “The Ring” hit theaters making at least $250 million in the box office worldwide. The second installment grossed at least $140 million worldwide. The film is being developed, and is supposedly going to be centered more to teens.
Plot of “The Ring”: A young journalist must investigate a mysterious videotape which seems to cause the death of anyone in a week of viewing it. (IMDB)
What do you think about the new movie? If the “The Ring 3D” does happen, I would totally go see it! That is because, I am Totally Horror!
